CSS is seeking a Marine GIS Analyst to join the team! 

  1. Hydrographic survey acquisition and post-processing
  2. Creating benthic habitat maps of the seafloor using sonars on vessels or autonomous platforms
  3. Acoustical and optical remote sensing data management.

The successful candidate must be available to travel on small inshore or large offshore research vessels to conduct mapping missions up to four times a year for up to four weeks at a time.

Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline
  • Two or more years of related laboratory safety and health experience
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience working in laboratories and knowledge of ES&H standards and regulations
  • Effective written and oral communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a solid contributor in a team environment
  • Capable of multi-tasking and changing direction depending on workload
  • Previous Federal government experience
  • Computer skills including: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
