The Space Life Sciences Laboratory – the best kept secret in the State of Florida! The “SLSL” is an impressive combination of research and technology occupants from government, commercial, and academia industry. The lab boasts 30 science labs and 6 hardware labs, office, and conference space, and 14 environmental growth and simulation chambers. Features such as shared laboratory equipment, workshop, chemical pharmacy, and walk-in cold rooms provide added support to the tenant community.
Built in 2003, the 109,000 square foot facility is a joint effort between State of Florida and NASA for payloads bound to the International Space Station (ISS). CSS played a pivotal role in establishing this joint venture and has served as the sole facility operator since its doors opened. The SLSL is in Exploration Park on federal property directly outside the security perimeter of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Today, the SLSL is a full-service, multi-tenant research laboratory supporting Earth and Space Life Science technology and product development. CSS delivers onsite Operations, Facility, IT, and Health & Safety oversight. The lab is dedicated to exploring science and engineering in support of the United States’ commercial space program and other research & development programs.
In addition to facility operations, CSS provides its Commercial Research Support Services (CRSS), an unmatched suite of services for your organization’s needs. We maintain and manage laboratories and infrastructure for client missions requiring short or long-term facility needs for R&D, manufacturing, testing, and sustaining operations. Combined with our 30 years of science and payload development experience, CSS supports a diverse portfolio of government, commercial, and academic clients through CRSS.
